Casualties Of War The Toy Quest Location And Completion Guide
In God of War Ragnarok, side quests known as Favors enrich the narrative by revealing poignant backstories across the nine realms. "Casualties of War: The Toy" is one such quest located in Vanaheim's lush Crater region, where players assist a spirit in recovering a cherished lost item. Completing this objective yields valuable resources and helps piece together the tragic lore surrounding the area's spirit inhabitants.
How to Unlock Casualties of War The Toy
To access the quest, players must first reach The Crater in Vanaheim by completing the Scent of Survival Favor. Once in the realm, navigating to the Jungle region and opening the river dam is required to restore water flow to the area. Flooding the region allows Kratos and Atreus to use a boat to reach previously inaccessible shores.
Head to the eastern portion of the Jungle to find the spirit of Andor resting near a spirit altar. Interacting with the spirit initiates the quest, asking you to find the missing half of a toy soldier. The spirit explains how the item was lost during a chaotic battle long ago.
Finding the Toy Item Location
The second half of the toy is located in the southern section of the Jungle, near the lair of a powerful Ogre. Row your boat toward the beach where the Ogres throw boulders across the river. Land on the shore and clear out the hostile creatures in the immediate area to ensure safe exploration.
After defeating the enemies, look around the ground near the base of the large stone structure. The glowing item indicator marks the exact spot of the half-toy. Interacting with the glowing prompt retrieves the lost relic and updates your quest log.
Completing the Quest and Rewards
Once the toy half is collected, the spirit will reappear automatically to offer a final message of gratitude. Watching the scene finish completes the Casualties of War: The Toy Favor without needing to travel back to the original quest giver. This streamlined resolution makes it one of the most efficient side tasks in the Crater region.
Completing this Favor rewards players with a substantial amount of Kratos and Freya XP, along with a unique Amulet Enchantment. These rewards significantly boost your combat capabilities as you tackle tougher end-game challenges across Vanaheim.
